Welcome

Welcome!

I am an Advanced Trainee Biodynamic Psychotherapist , working from the historic town of Totnes in Devon.

I offer body-oriented psychotherapy for people who sense that something in their experience is not fully reached through words alone. Sometimes this shows up as anxiety or low mood, but often it is experienced more physically, in breath, posture, sleep, or a persistent background sense of unease.

In our work, we pay attention to what is happening in the body as well as in thought and feeling. The aim is not to “fix” symptoms, but to listen more closely to what you might be expressing, at a pace that feels safe and grounded.

People often come when something in their life feels “stuck” in a way that talking alone hasn’t shifted:

This may include experiences such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Estrangement from one’s feelings
  • Depression
  • IBS
  • Numbness
  • Digestive and respiratory problems
  • Reduce inflammatory symptoms and improve immune system
  • Trauma/Complex PTSD
  • Lack of motivation, hope and purpose
  • Touch can help support grief and bereavement.

I am…

  • Registered with the UKCP.
  • A philosophy teacher, allowing me to integrate a process of enquiry and imagination to support the therapeutic journey.
  • A course tutor at Iron Mill Counselling College, Exeter.
  • An assistant trainer for the LSBP Diploma Course.
  • A school counsellor for young people and teacher of teenagers with complex social and emotional needs
  • My work is further informed by a lifelong practice of martial arts which has helped me to refine my inner sense of our innate movement patterns under different levels of stress.
